Jay Health Foods Pvt Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jay Sea Foods Processing (Pvt) Ltd, one of Sri Lanka’s leading seafood exporters. Founded by Mr. S.H. Jayasena, a lifelong advocate for natural wellness, the company was created to harness the nutritional and medicinal value of Sri Lanka’s native plants through sustainable agriculture.

Mr. Jayasena was particularly drawn to the Indian Gooseberry  (also known as “Amla” or “Nelli”). Revered in Ayurvedic medicine as Amrit Phal, the “Fruit of Eternal Life,” Amla has long been treasured for its exceptional health benefits. Discovering that local Nelli trees were in decline, he sourced mother trees from India and grafted over 2,000 saplings, helping revive Sri Lanka’s Nelli plantations.

Today, we manage a dedicated Nelli Plantation of over 30 acres in the Uva Province, fondly referred to by locals as “Nelliwatte”. In addition we also have cultivations of Papaya, Moringa, Scotch-bonnet, Brinjal, Passion Fruit, Watermelon, Pumpkin, Ginger, and other nutrient-rich crops, grown without harmful chemicals and in harmony with nature.

We are now entering a new phase of growth, with the launch of our export operations, introducing Sri Lanka’s tropical superfoods to international markets.
